HMGT 1240 Managing Food and Beverage Cost Controls3 Credit Hour(s) This course introduces students to how to maintain or improve quality standards while reducing expenses. Students utilize math applications as they develop a thorough background for the hospitality industry’s cost control system. Students will also learn about marketing channels and tactics used by food service managers. Students will have an opportunity to take the AHLEI certificate exam for this course.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 0530 , READ 0810 , and ENGL 0810 or equivalent. This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits
