HMGT 2230 Legal Aspects of Hospitality Administration3 Credit Hour(s) Students are introduced to the American legal system and basic business law concepts as well as laws unique to the hospitality industry. Selected topics in contracts, torts, and hospitality law are discussed with emphasis on lodging and beverage laws. The case study approach is utilized to afford the student an appreciation of the legal duties of hospitality owners and operators in order to avoid or minimize legal liabilities and exposure.
Prerequisite(s): READ 0810 and ENGL 0810 or equivalent. This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits
