INET 2034 Plant Layout and Materials Handling3 Credit Hour(s) This course is a practical study of facilities planning with emphasis on the most efficient arrangement of work areas to achieve the lowest production costs. Topics covered are equipment location, material handling, automatic storage and retrieval, bar coding, capital requirements, personnel organization, and safety. Computer-aided design problems are performed and utilization of advanced CAD techniques is emphasized.
Prerequisite(s): MEET 1230, INET 1004 or approval of program coordinator This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
