LEGL 2370 eDiscovery 3 Credit Hour(s) This course is required for all students pursuing a degree in Paralegal Studies. eDiscovery addresses the application of technology by paralegals within all types of legal organizations. This course covers all types of technology applicable to legal practice but places special emphasis on legal case management software. Topics covered include electronic filing, litigation support software, case management software, and docket control software. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- understand discovery process and rules of civil procedure for both federal and state courts and application of same in discovery process;
- understand EDRM and electronic discovery standards of practice and practical application of electronic discovery software; and
- obtain firm grasp of metadata and its use for analytical purposes to develop case strategy as well as to ensure compliance with electronic discovery rules of procedure.
